Sparkbox is New Zealand’s leading angel investor in the Information Communications and Technology (ICT) sector. We typically invest in a company's first investment round up to a maximum of $500,000. We invest, in partnership with the NZ Government's Seed Co-Investment Fund (SCIF), which is part of the NZ Venture Investment Fund (NZVIF). Where appropriate, we do follow on investments in a second round. We will also consider syndicating into further rounds with other investors.

In making our investments, we back exceptional founders and company management who have world beating ideas, enthusiasm, integrity and a strong and clear vision for their company.

We select companies that address large and diverse markets with reasonably short lead-in times, with products that are clearly differentiated, and which include Intellectual Property (IP) supported by patents.

Our goal is to assist founders to successfully realise their vision.
